![]() ![]() ![]() Can anyone point me to the right menu location? FWIW the hardware on the a6000 seems amazing, but the menu system is. The AWB Lock Hold function locks the white balance by stopping the automatic white balance adjustment while the button is pressed. ![]() If you press the assigned key during shooting, the white balance will be locked. I know this is probably some setting on the camera that's done this, but I can't figure out where it is. AEL (aka AE Lock) is a function that can be used when you want to reframe the scene, but keep the current exposure from changing. Select MENU ( Camera Settings2) Assign AWB Lock Hold or AWB Lock Toggle using Custom Key. I usually do my color balancing in Registax (again, lunar + planetary guy), but I can't do that here because the color balance in Registax stretches the individual channels rather than shifting them. If you look at the histograms as shown in the image, all the channel 'grams look similar except significantly shifted. I realize that this situation isn’t earth shattering but hoping someone could dumb it down for me and in terms of an a6000. I had it set on auto ISO, point metering, continuous AF and attempted to AF lock on to the plane and. This is the very first image that I've taken with it, and I am at a loss as to what to do about the strange color balance. You can also set the camera to full manual mode, letting you take control of exposure, aperture, white balance and more. Prior to the shoot I did a custom white balance by using the snow as my source, seemed to work. I am just now getting into using my wife's mirrorless Sony a6000 for astro. If you do not want to switch to spot metering when using AEL to hold or toggle then use one of the other two options without the dot in the bracket, it will use the default metering. I have mainly done planetary and lunar photography with a dedicated astro camera. Hi, You can set the AEL to hold or toggle using spot metering, the two options in the menu with a dot in the brackets. First, I am aware this is not a DSO image, but I figured you guys would know the most about the Sony a6000. ![]()
